Projects
Following an evaluation of its activities to date, the Foundation is committed to bringing a sharper focus to its support and promotion activities in public urban spaces. These activities can be assigned to the individual core themes of the Foundation – light, green or developed space - or simultaneously to more than one of these themes.
Vorgebirgspark Skulptur
With the support of the “Lebendige Stadt” foundation, the “Vorgebirgspark Skulptur” project was realized.
The art project has been organized in Cologne’s Vorgebirgspark since 1999. The Vorgebirgspark, Cologne’s first public park, has an architectonic garden with four differently designed sections with regard to structure and topography. Young as well as established artists are invited to develop works for this characteristic part of the Vorgebirgspark. In 2010, five artists took the opportunity to work in public space and to create works for this special place. The works were presented to the public on August 29, 2010.
