Award set up by the Foundation
The “Lebendige Stadt” Foundation presents a Foundation Award each year in recognition of innovative civic projects such as particularly outstanding cultural and civic marketing events, successful city displays comprising elements such as light, sound and water (as temporary or permanent installations), and projects in the field of building conservation and tourism, especially if these are of cultural or artistic value.

The “Lebendige Stadt” Foundation calls on all cities, towns, municipalities, nonprofit organisations and associations to enter for the Foundation Award 2025.
Together Against Loneliness

More and more people of all ages, in cities and rural areas, whether they were born here or migrated, are suffering from loneliness. 41 percent of the approximately 41 million German households are single, and the trend is rising. In recent years, many programs and projects have been initiated in cities and municipalities to prevent, counteract, and offer support for loneliness.
Cities and municipalities, together with cooperatives, associations, clubs, organizations, and institutions, are eligible to apply.
Projects that improve people's participation in public life, provide opportunities for social interaction, or contribute to social interaction, thus helping them overcome loneliness, are eligible.
The foundation's mission is to support projects that can serve as role models for others. Therefore, exemplary, sustainable, and at the same time cost-effective solutions are of particular importance.
A total of €30,000 is being offered.
